On Thursday, October 29th, hundreds gathered at Cipriani 42nd Street to celebrate The Doe Fund's 25 years of service to New York City. Speakers included Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Harold Dow of CBS News' 48 Hours, the Reverend Alfonso Wyatt of the Fund for the City of New York, and Harriet and George McDonald. Longtime Doe Fund supporter Burton Resnick and former Board of Directors Member Derek Kaufman were each honored for their steadfast service. One of the night's most inspiring moments took place when Nazerine Griffin, the Director of The Doe Fund's Harlem Center for Opportunity, was joined on stage by forty "men in blue" while he told his personal story of transition from homelessness and addiction to independence.
