A Fallen Soldier
A fallen soldier wounded at
war,
not afraid of challenges of death, yet not knowing what's in store.
An outcast driven from his heritage, scars marked for life.
The pain of this experience cuts his soul like a knife.
A fallen soldier so keen, smart in his own way,
forced to put down his weapons just to make it through the day.
Weapons of anger -- self-centeredness -- guilt and shame,
not knowing which direction to choose, nowhere to place the blame.
The blame of how he started a war, and with all that he knows,
haunted by a thing called Truth, wherever he goes.
The truth that his plans no longer work, to himself he can't lie.
Yet at the end of a trying day, he sits and tends to cry.
A fallen soldier, can he surrender to the element of love?
He's found another way to fight his battle, by using God above.
